Southwest Gas Supports Homeless Teens with $3,500 Donation and Street Outreach Food Kits

On Saturday, July 22, nearly 100 Southwest Gas employees and their families volunteered to pack close to 1,000 Street Outreach kits filled with non-perishable snacks. The snacks will be handed out by the Our Family Services Street Outreach team during their daily encounters with homeless teens on the streets of Tucson. These snacks not only provide essential nutrition to youth that may not receive regular meals due to their lack of stable housing, but also a bridge for Street Outreach staff to begin to build trust. This bridge connects youth on the street with adults they can reach out to when they are ready for a fresh start.

Our Family’s Megan Sanes and Sarah McNamara were on hand Saturday to accept the kits along with a $3,500 donation from Southwest Gas.

Thank you Southwest Gas for your generous support!
