This four-hour workshop will focus on two invaluable tools for encouraging empowerment and recognition among mediation parties: pre-mediation and caucus. The workshop outlines the structure of these sessions, identifies their benefits to the parties, considers how and when to implement them within the context of a dispute, and explores ways to better integrate them into your own mediation practice. Skills practice included.

Prerequisite: Completion of at least 40 hours of mediation training. Knowledge of the Transformative style of mediation.

Note: Following the workshop (from 1-5 pm AZ/PT) there will be a free quarterly Mediation Matters educational event for mediators.  This quarter, the focus is on providing practice opportunities for mediators who want to brush up on their skills and receive constructive feedback.  Feel free to stay after the Advanced Mediation workshop and participate in this dynamic 4-hour practice session.  This session will be a hybrid presentation, meaning you can participate in-person at the Center office, or via Zoom. Advance registration is required to ensure there are enough practice groups in each format.  Contact center@ourfamilyservices.org to register and for more information about Mediation Matters.
