We are happy to announce that we have selected our next great leader. Jamie Snyder will be joining Our Family as chief executive officer, effective January 3, 2022. Jamie brings with her a wealth of nonprofit experience in organizations that provide shelter, housing, and emergency services. She has 15 years of non-profit experience including management and operational oversight in areas such as administration, fund development, social services, crisis services, housing, emergency shelter, and community-based programs. Most recently Jamie led TMM Family Services right here in Tucson as President/CEO. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice and a graduate degree in Criminology with an emphasis in Social Justice from Northern Arizona University.
“I am excited about the opportunity to serve OFS and to support the organization’s vision of a socially and economically just community where everyone has a safe, affordable, and stable home. Last year, OFS served 3,384 individuals through programs serving youth and families experiencing homelessness and the Reunion House program, the only emergency shelter of its kind operating in southern Arizona, meets a critical need to provide safe shelter for LGBTQ youth,” said Jamie. “I am honored to join the OFS team of talented staff, community partners, and board members, who advocate for social change and who bring awareness to the need for critical housing services in Southern Arizona.”
As a lifelong Southern Arizonan, Jamie has a deep connection to the area. After pursuing her passion for social justice and earning her degrees at NAU, she returned to Tucson to raise her family in the vibrant community that she has always loved. She has dedicated herself to serving in the nonprofit field so that, “my home would also be a safe, welcoming, and equitable home for all youth and families.” In her free time, Jamie enjoys long distance runs, challenging CrossFit workouts, traveling, and baking for her two young sons.
“The board of directors is delighted to welcome Jamie as CEO for Our Family Services. She brings a wealth of experience and a passion and commitment to serving families and youth experiencing homelessness,” said Geneva Escobedo, Our Family Services board chair. “We look forward to her leadership and to building greater success for Our Family Services.”
