Raffles, door prizes and gift cards will be given as incentives, and certificates of completion will be given.

Recovery Together group for parents and teens
Parents of drug-using young people desperately want to help their children but often don’t know how. Their fear leads them to try to control their son or daughter’s drug use by nagging, lecturing, bribing or punishing – strategies that tend to fail.
Starting June 9, Our Family will offer Recovery Together, a twice-weekly program for parents and their drug-using or abusing teenagers that shifts the emphasis toward creating healthy conditions in the family that promote clean and sober living. Young people and parents attend the program together, learning problem-solving skills that reopen lines of communication and help broken or stressed relationships begin to heal. (If the facilitator determines a teen’s drug-use problem is more extensive, clients will be referred to an appropriate provider.) The class is open to teens ages 12 -17 and their parents (or grandparents, foster parents or other primary caregivers) and costs $25 per session per family.
The group will be held 6-7:30 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays starting June 9 at the Volunteer Center of Southern Arizona,
924 N. Alvernon Way.
