Community EducationTraining in schools and community settings to help children and adults build positive, healthy relationships and avoid risky behaviors such as bullying, violence and drug or alcohol abuse. Currently offering: La Escuelita After-school literacy, skill-building and enrichment for grade K-5 kids in South Tucson at the House of Neighborly Service. Teen mentors learn leadership skills.
Seniors Program Companionship and nutrition for South Tucson seniors, who meet twice-weekly at the House of Neighborly Service for lunch, crafts and outings.
R.E.E.L. Talk Filmmaking projects to educate youth about preventing sexual violence, bullying and harassment.
Drug Free Communities Multi-agency effort to help adults and children in Tucson’s 29th Street Corridor build community and avoid drug or alcohol abuse.
Peer Mediation Trains students and staff to create and sustain school-based peer mediation programs. Children learn to help other students work out their conflicts in a peaceful, reasonable manner. Parenting education is provided through the generosity of the O’Rielly Foundation and in partnership with Pima County Parenting Coalition.
